Fir Post, Red Cedar Railing, Cascara Balusters and Pine Bench

This work is featured at the Laughing House in Coquille, OR. All of the materials originated from the property--with exception of the pine for the bench--and were custom selected for the job.  The design was a collaboration between me, Ianto Evans and Linda Smiley. I completed this project during the second week of May 2010.

I designed the Y pattern, and wanted it to be featured in the center of view from the downstairs entrance. After carefully measuring and cutting each piece, I then set the Cascara Balusters into the bottom of Red Cedar Rail and into the decking below.

The balusters were selected from the meadow at Cob Cottage and prepared by myself and apprentices.
